Delete your account & data

You can permanently delete your Chemy account and the data tied to it at any time. Here’s how, and exactly what gets removed.

Request deletion by email

Email support@chemyapp.com from the address on your account, or include the username on your account, and ask us to delete it. To prevent fraudulent requests, we may ask you to confirm ownership (for example, by signing in). This is the current way to delete your account.

Request account deletion

A one-tap, in-app delete control (Settings → Account) is planned for a future update. Until it ships, the email request above is the way to delete your account, and we will process it for you.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and profile (username, display name, avatar).
  • Your community sightings and any photos you uploaded.
  • Your reports and block relationships.
  • Any coarse location attached to your posts.

What is kept (and why)

  • Data stored only on your device — such as your Sky Journal — is not on our servers; deleting the app removes it.
  • Purchase records are held by Apple, not us. Manage subscriptions in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions; we cannot delete Apple’s billing records.
  • We may retain limited records where required by law (for example, to meet legal or security obligations), kept only as long as necessary.

Timeframe

Email requests are completed within 30 days, and usually much sooner. Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
